Tooth Fairy Detail with Blue Light Blocking Filter
For Changing Diapers, Tooth Fairy Detail, Checking on or Assisting Children or Adults
Beam n Read Hands-Free Lights are used by parents, nurses, and caregivers of infants to seniors. It's the only personal light with snap-on blue light blocking relaxation filters so the light won't disturb or stimulate the child or adult you're assisting.
Key Features: hands-free; use anywhere; versatility; relaxation filters
"This little light is the most useful, versatile tool I've found in a while... I use mine to check on my son at night without waking him," - Susan Maphis, UpScaleBaby.com
Worn around the neck, a Beam n Read light provides hands-free light anywhere children, adults, and patients are. As baby gear, a Beam n Read is great for changing diapers in the middle of the night at home or when traveling. No need to turn room lights on disturbing the baby or a sibling sleeping in the same room. Nurses can check on sleeping patients or medical items such as IV bags without needing to disturb them (or roommates) by turning on room lights.
The broad base also enables the Beam n Read to lie stable on a bed when light is needed from below instead of above such as when checking if a diaper change is needed or while cleaning the child. Or aim away from the child to bounce the light off the wall for a soft glow that lets you see but doesn't disturb the sleeping ones.
The snap-on red relaxation filter is especially useful when checking on young and not so young sleeping children and adults. The softer red light reduces the chance of waking them while helping maintain night vision when turning the light off in a dark room. This is also very helpful when on tooth fairy detail.
Perfect for bedtime reading with the lights out. Read to young children with the filters so they won't be stimulated by blue light while you read. Older children can read to themselves and simply flip the light off without needing to get out of bed to turn a room light off. Also, they can read without disturbing a younger sibling sharing the same room.
For a sick or injured child or adult, a Beam n Read gives them easy access to light without needing to call someone to turn room lights on or off. When sitting next to a family member in the hospital or at home in bed, it allows you to stitch or read without disturbing them while they sleep.
With a unique combination of features, accessories, versatility, and battery runtime, our patented lights are unmatched by other portable, personal lights. Accessories include clip-on filters for more relaxing light, a USB Power Kit, and clip-on magnifier lenses. Included accessories vary by model.

It is important that those offering bedside care offer opportunities for independence, even in small ways.
This can be accomplished with the right tools and resources. For example,...
a Beam N Read can give them more freedom to do as they wish at night.
When an individual can meet some of their needs on their own, it helps with emotional stability.

Here's a funny thing that I've used my Beam N Read for--to check on my baby during the night. My eyes don't adjust to the dark very well and so I used my handy little light to help me out! I checked on my baby who was fast asleep and thought I smelled something amiss, but you know the rule: Never wake a sleeping baby! But the other rule is never let them get a diaper rash from sitting in their poop! What to do? I put on my Beam N Read, carefully checked his diaper (which I could do because my hands were free) and found peace of mind. Baby was happy because he could keep sleeping and Mama was happy to go to sleep knowing baby was comfortable and clean.

My 8 year old has taken to borrowing this every night before she goes to bed. (I usually have to hunt it down in her room when I want to use it.) She wanted to be a part of this review also. Below are her thoughts on the Beam n Read.
******** The Beam N Read was easy to read to my mom with in the dark when my brother was sleeping. In the dark sometimes it's easy to play dolls with the Beam N Read. It has a little thing that you have to flip backwards with light bulbs in it and it automatically turns on. Then I can read or play in the dark. It is so fun to use and it's something good for parents and children to use.Not Everyones Momma.
The BEAM N Read is a portable light that can be an extra set of hands when you need it. It is bright enough to light a room but with the provided filters can be calm enough to change a baby without waking the whole house. My experience with the Beam N Read was just that, changing and feeding a baby. I have a new grandson who spent the night with me. He is six weeks old. I didn't want to turn the big lights on in the house and wake everyone so I thought of my new BEAM N Read. I quickly snapped on the orange filter. I was able to see to feed the baby at 4 am and change a diaper without the need to hold a light or turn on the lamps. Tiny Tidbits of an NC Diva
I've found many uses for the beam & read. Both in dark rooms at the hospital (to keep from bothering the patients), to working on crafts during a movie (family likes the room dark) and of course, reading the Kindle. Karen, Intensive Care Nurse, Blog Post
I used the Beam N Read to check on my infant children, change diapers, check on a feeding tube, etc. without needing to turn on the overhead light. Years later, on Halloween it was a big help finding items the kids dropped out of the stroller in the dark shadows. I could keep one hand on the stroller and the other was free to pick stuff up. So what do I think about the Beam N Read LED 6 Deluxe hands Free Light? I think that it has been a life savor for my daughter! She is able to read while in bed without me having to hear her scream that her book light fell off or she just doesn't have enough light.Free & Frugal Mommy of One
Another great feature is its use as a parent. I have four children and with a big family someone will inevitably get sick at least once a month. When I want to check on them, I don't want to wake them up at night, but going in their rooms (which sometimes are a little scary to navigate), but with the Beam N Read, I don't have to worry about that. I can see my way around their room just fine and check their temperature, color, etc. without having to worry about waking them. The light is enough for me to see what I need to see, yet mild enough that it doesn't wake my children.SwankSavings.com
I used to work at a hospital on the night shift and would have to take patient vitals in the middle of the night. This would be ideal for nurses and CNAs for checking on the patients and their vitals without disturbing them with a glaring light, as well as for charting. It provides enough light that you can do your charting bedside without disturbing the patient. .
